The moon phase function is the “soul” of the Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Ultra Thin Moon series. The replica Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Ultra Thin Moon can be said to be Jaeger-LeCoultre’s most popular watch and the most authentic dress watch.
The inspiration of the Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Ultra Thin watch comes from the Jaeger-LeCoultre ultra-thin pocket watch that was born in the early 20th century. The birth of the ultra-thin pocket watch came from an invitation and a phone call. And this phone call led to the naming of Jaeger-LeCoultre and the formal establishment of the brand. In 1903, French watchmaker Edmond Jaeger, who was also the official supplier of marine clocks for the French Navy, invited Swiss watchmakers to create an ultra-thin movement designed by him. After hearing the news, Jacques-David LeCoultre (whose grandfather Antoine LeCoultre founded the Jaeger-LeCoultre Grande Maison) rode his bicycle to a telephone booth 20 kilometers away from the Grande Maison and accepted Jaeger’s invitation to manufacture ultra-thin movements. After that, Jaeger and LeCoultre started a close cooperation to create an ultra-thin movement series and launch a number of ultra-thin pocket watches. In 1937, the cooperation between the two went a step further and merged the two companies into Jaeger-LeCoultre. The name of the Jaeger-LeCoultre brand is taken from the names of the two.
The Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Ultra Thin series has two materials: steel case and gold case. The gold case is basically made of rose gold, which can better highlight the dignified temperament of formal watches. In 2023, Jaeger-LeCoultre has launched several new rose gold models, adding to the lineup of Master Ultra Thin Moon and expanding the selection. The case size continues to be 39 mm in diameter and 9.3 mm in thickness. The bezel and case sides are polished, and the lugs are frosted.
The replica Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Ultra Thin Moon watch adopts a large three-hand layout, and the Jaeger-LeCoultre “JL” three-dimensional metal logo is at 12 o’clock. The triangular cone hour markers are matched with the princess-style hands, and the shape is echoed. The hands, hour markers and dot minute scales are all in gold, echoing the rose gold case. The moon phase display is still at 6 o’clock. Jaeger-LeCoultre continues to adopt the “same color” strategy, with a golden moon and a gold case (silver moon for the stainless steel model). The moon is mirror-polished and is particularly eye-catching against a dark blue background. The numbers around the outer ring of the moon phase disc are the date display, which is a classic combination of the ultra-thin master moon phase watch. The date is indicated by a ring, like a layer of edge outside the moon phase window, which visually highlights the functional window.
